Youth Protecting Youth wins

The very best of news. The board of directors of the University of Victoria Student Society has just voted to reinstate Youth Protecting Youth with full club status and pay the club what was taken from it over the past two years on the pretext that its activities violated the society’s anti-harrassment prolicies. This is $719.
As well, amendments passed by the previous, ardently anti-YPY board at the end of its tenure, designed specifically to outlaw prolife advocacy on campus, were removed. This is in response to a lawsuit launched by YPY and the BC Civil Liberties Union.

  1. Colin Liske says:

This is absolutely great news. A huge win for freedom of speech at the University of Victoria. We pray the same will happen in other universities in our land. It does look like this war against the liberal repression of speech needs to be won incrementally.
